/ Glasses Or Contacts?

Should you wear glasses or contacts? Here is Josh's take.

For those of us (myself included) with less than perfect vision we have been faced with an extremely important fashion question: Glasses or Contacts? Your face is probably the most noticeable part of your appearance as a guy and because of this, what you wear (or don't wear) on it is of utmost importance.
<h4>Contacts are the safe bet</h4>
While glasses have become a fashion staple over the past several years with numerous people wearing glasses as accessories despite not needing them, contacts remains the safe bet. Besides the evolutionary implication of weak eyesight which should theoretically make men with glasses less attractive, it isn't always easy to find glasses that look GOOD on someone, even if they have the potential to look just as good (if not better) with glasses than without.

If you want to play it safe and not worry about it, go with contact lenses. No one is going to "punish your appearance" if you do not wear glasses. Furthermore, glasses can interfere with certain dating functions, such as kissing and some dancing.
<h4>Glasses can be a "looks equalizer"</h4>
Similar to facial hair, glasses can sometimes help counteract some of your less flattering facial features; particularly the nose or eyes. For example, good eye glasses selection can help manipulate views of your eye size or nose size. Also, an interesting pair of glasses can help detract attention from less appealing facial features.

The flip side of this is that if you are very good looking, you probably do not want to draw attention away from your good facial features with a pair of glasses. It doesn't matter that much if you are in the good looking camp, but I think contacts are better in that scenario.
<h4>If you are going to go with glasses, choose wisely</h4>
As you have read, you can see that I generally think contacts are a better option; however, that isn't necessarily the case for everyone given the "looks equalizing" effect that glasses have. What I will say though, is that if you are going to go with glasses, you have go to choose wisely. Unlike a pair of jeans or a shirt which you only wear sometimes, glasses are on your face, the most visible part of you, <strong>all the time</strong>. Put in the time and effort to find a solid pair of glasses that are fashionable, comfortable, and complement your appearance the best. If there is one thing to not get cheap with, glasses are it!
